Will I Lose My Crypto for Deleting an App on a Ledger Hardware Wallet? | Podcast Clip
During a Q&A video I recorded about Ledger hardware wallets, I addressed one of the top concerns about the way #LedgerLive apps work.
Many people wonder what will happen if they delete an app to make room for downloading a different app and if doing so will remove any crypto from their wallet. The short answer is: no. You will not lose any funds if you delete an app on your Ledger Device.
The reason for this is that the apps on your device are simply an interface to the 24 word phrase which derives all your private keys. Your funds are stored on the blockchain as holdings of those private keys.
Whether you delete an app, lose your hardware wallet, backup to a new wallet, etc… doesn’t matter. What matters is that you have the same 24 word phrase backed up and you are able to enter that phrase again to regain control of the private keys that are derived from it.
